ADSL Broadband
The ADSL is a form of digital subscriber line that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines. This type of transmission speed is faster than that provided by a conventional modem. This is achieved by utilizing frequencies that are normally not used by a voice telephone call, in particular. The frequencies are usually higher than normal human hearing.
It allows a single telephone connection to be used for both ADSL and voice calls at the same time. Approximately 80% of the UK population will have access to ADSL.
It is easy to install.
There is a drawback in ADSL, since signal will not travel very far over normal telephone cables. It can be used over short distances typically less than 5 km.
Further there is a need to purchase micro filters for all telephone sockets to prevent the ADSL interfering with voice calls.
There is another factor that is involved on downloading. The downloading information is much faster than sending.
